Some news about this week’s changes...

My Amazing Family!!!
Hey family what’s up?? It sounds like everything is going just great for you guys. So the trip to see whit went good? And I am sure that it went really fast. Ya I am still sicked out about the news of Cody. I haven’t stopped thinking about it since last week. I am sooo looking forward to seeing him. Ok mom just so you know I got my packages on Tuesday of this week, all three of them. I really need to confess something, I couldn’t really wait, so I opened up the one in the box. When I got home, there were ants eating the package, or going in, so I had to open it.lol But I promise to wait with the other ones. Lol but it’s so good to hear that you guys are all doing great. Ryan mowing the lawn… what a miracle! Lol my little brother is growing up.Ok so I have some news about this week’s changes for you all. Lol I am still in the same place or same sector that is Centenario, but I did get a new companion! His name is Elder Hernandez de Guatemala! He has almost 4 months in the mission, so that means that I am the older companion. So to tell you the truth, I am a little bit scared. lol but not really. The good thing is that I know the sector and all the members and investigators. But I am really excited to work with him, he seems really cool, but I have only known him for a few hours. Elder Perez went to a different place here in Guayaquil. I am writing in the mall, and I just saw him with his new comp. lol but it’s so different because as the older comp I have to make the decisions a lot more. So it will be very interesting. We are getting a new president starting tomorrow. Today I am going to send my last card or email to President Johns. It’s so crazy because I still feel like I got here yesterday and that president still has like 8 months. But now we are getting a new president whose name is Pres. Montalti. It will be different because with President Johns he always talked in English when we had our monthly interviews, but from now on they will be in Spanish. Things are really going to change. Lol hey did I tell you that I can’t wait to see Cody? It really seems so far away, but I am sure that the time will go by way fast like it already is. Oh I almost forgot to write you and say Happy Birthday mom and Jordan. I am so sorry that I forgot last week it was just I got so excited about the news of Cody that I forgot to write about it. But now I remember.. Happy Birthday o sea faliz cumpleaños!!! Lol sorry I forgot mom and Jordan. Mom I want you to know that I think that you are amazing! I am so lucky to have a mom like you, really truly blessed. Thanks for all you do! I feel really bad because I have been so bad at writing letters or real letters and saying happy birthday, but I want you to know that when I can, I am going to send a package with some cool stuff and I’ll write a real letters. But sorry about that!! Anyway I think I better be taking off. Mom, dad and everyone else I love you all so much! Thanks for everything you guys do for me. Thanks for your good example and being the best family ever! I want you all to know that this is the Lord’s work and that this is the true church! I know that the gift of tongues is real that that the Lord blesses those who do his work. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that the Book of Mormon is the word of god and another testimony of Jesus Christ our Salvador! I know that all these things are true without a doubt in my mind or heart. In these weeks and throughout all the time I have had in my mission, I have had the overwhelming assurance that all things are true. The Holy Ghost has testified to me over and over again and continues to do so. I know that if we obey the commandments and do all that we can as a family that we will return to live with our Heavenly Father together forever! I hope to bring many of these same knowledge or just help them a little to know these things. In these things, true happiness is found. I love you all soo much!!

WHAT!!!!!!!

Fam!!
WHAT!!!!!!! I can’t really believe what I just saw or read!!! Please don’t tell me that this is some kind of joke. Really I don’t know what to think! I am freakin out!!! I don’t even know what to say! My hands are shaking and I feel like someone just scared the heck out of me!! Wow….. ok that is soo sick!! I can’t believe that Cody is coming to ECUADOR!!! I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT HE IS COMING TO THE SAME MISSION!! How sick would it be if I was his trainer. Lol I might have to turn and twist some wires to work that out. But am sure that I will see him!! That is so crazy, I don’t even know what to think. Why can’t he just leave this week and just come straight here? Lol dang I can’t wait to see him!!! Ok I’ll definitely write something for him when I finish with this message. Ok wow I have to think about something else because I am freakin out. Ok so mom I’m pretty sure that you could just put the money on my card and I can just pull it out here in Ecuador. I have taken out 10 since the MTC or like a month ago, but other than that I haven’t even touched it. But if you could just put the money there it would be nice and just let me know what I can use. Ok I am still freakin out. Wow I can’t believe that he is coming here. That’s so crazy!! I will only have 8 months left when he gets here? That’s so crazy!! Hey mom tell Whitney that I said congrats with the graduation and everything!! So you guys are in Virginia and you’re going to Washington DC? That’s so cool, make sure to not have too much fun without me. Lol well I really don’t know that to tell you about, because I can’t concentrate on anything now. Anyway I had a good week. Really it was pretty normal. We had someone named Guillermo preparing for his baptism for this week, but he didn’t go to church so he lost his date. We are working hard to get those that we teaching to feel prepared for a baptism. The most important part is that they go to church so they can develop friends and feel the Spirit more strongly. But we won’t be having a baptism this week and it’s my and Elder Perez last week together I think. But that’s all good. Our president goes this week and also we will have changes of companions along with a new president. So the next week will be more interesting. I am sorry that I don’t keep you guys well informed about our investigators I’ll try to be better at it starting next week when I can think straight. Ok I want to be able to write Cody a little letter like you said mom, so am going to cut this short. But I want to say thanks mom and dad for everything and the packages that I will be getting. I love you all very much and I miss you all too. I hope you all have a great time with Whitney and that you enjoy our trip. I will take more time to write you next week, and I’ll let you know who is my new comp or what going down. Les amo y les quiero mucho. Espero que les vaya bien! Un gusto escucharles! Love you all!!
OH P.S. I am going to send two pics. One of them I have a sick sweatshirt on. I talked my comp into buying this sweatshirt before he goes home, but then he chose the one that I wanted lol no jk but I want to buy one of them and they are way cheap and sooooo sick if I don’t say so myself!! What do you think??? I want to hear your guys’ opinion on the sweater! The other is a banana that grew together. It was one banana, but I had to pay for two. Lol Love you all!!!
Con Amor- With love, Elder Keables

Cody!!!!

WOW !!!!! Cody Storm what is up??? I can’t believe that you are going to come and see me in Ecuador!!! That is pretty much the sickest thing ever!! !! To tell you the truth I am still in shock and I don’t really know what to say!!! Well the first thing is congrats!! Just for the record Ecuador Guayaquil South Mission has been classified into the top 1 of best missions in all the world. After thinking about it a lot I am sure that it is the best place to go and I also heard that all the best missionaries go there!!! Lol just jokin. But seriously!!! Hey remember when David Smailes got back from his mission and we listened to him tell about the mission. I am pretty sure that he also served in Ecuador. But that is so crazy because who would have guessed that we would go to the same place as him. Lol man we are getting old. I still don’t know what to say after seeing the video and reading my mom’s message I am speechless. I think I scared everyone inside the building when I saw the video. I think they all thought that the gringo was going crazy.lol well I don’t know if I could give you any good advice. Maybe just take advantage of In and Out Burger while you are home. Also, drink water out of the sink, also cold weather! Also you could start eating rice to prepare yourself, also… lol, no just let me know if you have questions for me about Ecuador. If you do just write them to my mom and she can send them and I can respond back to her through email. Wow I am soooo excited. Lol really I want you to know that I am sooo excited for you!!! I have no doubt in my mind that you will be the best missionary that Ecuador Guayaquil South Mission has ever had!! Lol you were always number one. Lol really you are going to be the best missionary I am sure of it. I know that you are going to love Ecuador! It is a great place and the people are so nice!! It is really different but the coolest place ever!! The good thing is that you’re like a genius( so smart) so you will learn the language so quick. You will probably be better than me in our first month lol no you really are going to be the best missionary!! Well I think I better be going, but I want you to know that I am excited to see you. Congats again on the call!! You’re going to be the bestest. Lol Entonces espero pare ti aquí en Ecuador! Gracias por su buen ejemplo para me! Yo se que va a ser la mayor misionero en todo el mundo! Lol ojalá que todo esta bien contigo! ok my spanish is not the best yet but I hope you can understand it. lol it should be good. Lol I love you man! Congrates!! N.M.

I am loving the mission...

Buenas!

Wow I can’t believe that you guys are already going to camp, and that next week you guys will be in Virginia. That’s going to be so sick and yes take alot of pics! ok so I can’t believe that Cody will get his call this week. That is so crazy! I’m going to be freaking out waiting to find out where he goes. I can’t even imagine how he must feel. Ok so I have a few questions for you. Ok first I was wondering if I will get some money to spend for my birthday because I really want to send you guys a package of things for my year mark or my birthday. They have so many cool things here that I want to send you guys, and I feel bad because I really haven’t bought anything or sent anything for you all. I was thinking about some of those bags that Lili has or some really cool looking beanies or hats. I also have some other stuff in mind. Ok the other question I have is if maybe you could send my some family history stuff, maybe a family tree. Where does the name Keables come from? I don’t really know that much about my history and its killing me!! ok the other question I was going to ask is if maybe some time in the next few months you could send my some ties from the D.I. or from a thrift store. Some that are cheap because they are really going to get dirty like all the ties I have. ok well that’s about all the questions that I have. I am sorry of I am a little bit over demanding. ok well what could I tell you about this last week? Really not much has happened. Me and my comp have had the cold these last few days so it’s been kinda hard. You know one thing about the mission or about teaching sometimes is have to work even when you’re sick. Well if you’re really really sick you stay in the house, but that’s only if you like dying. But seeings how we are not dying, we have to keep working. It’s hard because you want to work and go out and teach but at the same time you just feel so tired. But we are starting to feel better so that’s good. Out of the 4 elders that live in the house 3 of us have been sick this week. But the cool thing is out of the 10 months that I have in the mission I have been able to work every single day! I have never stayed in the house yet so that has been a really big blessing! There are a lot of other missionaries that have had it a lot harder than me. There is one elder in my district that has lost 70 pounds since the beginning of his mission. He looks like a changed man. lol but he is way funny and cool. So we are still working away on our investigators but it looks like we will only have one baptism on the 26, which is still good, but we thought we would have more. We are still working hard to get the one prepared for that date and praying that everything will go good. Anyway I better get going because we still have a lot of stuff to do and I want to send some pics. The one pic that I am going to send is of me and my comp and the temple and the other is when we had the two families over for lunch and the last is today. We just bought those hats!! Ok well I gotta go but I want you all to know that I love you all so much! Say hi to whittle-butt for me and tell her that I love her and to everyone else! Mom, dad I love you all so much and am sooo grateful for all that you do for me. I am the luckiest son in the world along with 7 other brother and sisters. I love you guys and miss you a lot. But I am loving the mission. I hope all goes well and you guys enjoy our trip. Ill pray for you all!!! Love you All!!!

I know the Lord will protect us always...

June 8, 2010
Hey Family!!!
Hey you guys!!! How are you all?? It sounds like you are all doing great. I can’t believe that it’s already summer. Are you guys getting excited about the trip to see Whitney? That sounds like a lot of fun! Tell whit I said hi and that I love her!! So you guys sold the big blue!! I can’t believe that! You guys sold the chick magnet? Now what am I going to do when I get back? Lol just jokin I don’t think that it will be necessary. Ok so Ryan thinks he can beat me? lol we will see about that. Lol no I don’t think I will be able to keep up with Ryan because I was having troubles before the mission, and I can only imagine that he has gotten so much better. Anyway it sounds like you guys are doing great. Well I am also doing really good here in the mish. Time is going by fast, I think I already told you that. I can’t believe that Chase Brown will be home soon and that Cody Storm will leave soon or better said, he will know where he is going. That’s crazy!! Ok dad to answer some of your questions. So one of the investigators that we have right now is one family named Alonzo. It’s a famiy of 3 a mom and dad and a 11 year old girl. The mom is member who got baptized like 30 years ago but doesn’t remember it very well. So she is not active. How did we meet them? Me and my comp were at the park next to our house with a table of stuff that talks about the family. We were talking with families as they passed by. My comp was talking to another family, so went over to talk contact them because he is a really tall guy and I thought I might be able to talk about basketball or something to start off. So when I went over to talk to him we started talking. I found out that they lived in our sector and that his wife was member. When I asked him if we could visit he said that he would love it, because he doesn’t know anything about us. I am very proud to say that I got the reference all by myself!! Lol we then went to visit them the next week. In our first lesson or at the end of the first session we asked him if he would prepare to be baptized in 4 weeks. He said he would think about it. On the second lesson we checked up on him and he accepted the date for the 26 of this month. It was funny because in the first lesson that we had with him we had a member with us who is a missionary returned. He thought that we were crazy for putting the date in the first lesson, but at the end of that lesson he said that it was amazing because he felt the Spirit so strong. You know what is crazy? President Johns said that we as missionaries should put a date for baptism in the very first lesson every single time. He said that there are so many people that are ready and prepared for this message or those that are chosen that we shouldn’t waste our time with those who aren’t. It is so true. There are those that the Lord prepares for us and we need to find them. We teach that the true gospel has been restored and that the only way to know for yourself is read and pray and we should focus on those who are prepared, those who have the desire to know, those we read the Book of Mormon, meditate on the message that it contains and then pray with real intent of heart, with faith, to know whether or not these things are true. There are those that the Lord has prepared that are ready to do those things and we should focus on them. But I am talking way too much. Ok also Stalyn, he got baptized a few weeks ago, is doing great. He has the priesthood and a few Sundays back I got to see him bless and pass the sacrament for the very first time, which was such a cool experience. He is going to seminary every day and going to church too. He is trying with everything he has to prepare for a mission. In all his prayers he asks the Lord to help him prepare to serve the mission. He really is doing great. We have two more with dates to get baptized, but they need to really receive a stronger testimony, so we are working on that with them. Lol do you know what is so funny. I am trying to write in English but the words keep coming up in my mind in Spanish. Sometimes I don’t know if what I’m saying makes since because it does in Spanish. Slowly but sure my Spanish is getting better and better, but at the same time my English is getting worse. Lol ok so really quickly about what happened when that person got stabbed. Well I was in a different sector and we had just left a house that some of the missionaries were looking at to buy or rent because they have to change houses. When the owner had just finished showing us around and telling us that the sector is really nice and very calm, we left the house and there were a lot of police and people standing all around. The police had their guns ready to shoot. I looked like 3 doors down and there was a guy lying on the ground moving around. I really don’t know what happened. All I know is that he had just gotten stabbed. When the guy who got hurt left in a car there was blood all over the ground . Not to sure if he lived or died. I think he lived. Oh and to tell you about what happened with the robbery, I’ll just copy and paste what I wrote to president. Because we need to write the president when stuff happens like this. To tell you a little bit about when me and my companion got robbed. We had just gotten on the bus to go to one of our lesson that was on the other side of our sector. We were on the bus for about 3 minutes when two guys stood up. One of them went to the front of the bus and said something to the driver when he turned around he had a gun in his hang. Both of the guys robbed just about everyone in the bus that had a cell phone or something valuable. When he asked me what I had, I told him that all we had was books. After that they both got off the bus. The good thing is that we didn’t lose anything and that we got to our lesson on time without any harm done. But really it was a little scary, but I feel that the Lord protected us and always will if we are obedient. lol well that’s what happened. Well I think its time to go. I have written a lot. I want you all to know that I love you all very much and I miss you soo much. Mom don’t worry- me and my comp are doing our best to be obedient, and I know the Lord will protect us always.. I love all you guys with all my heart. Les amo muchisimo!! Oh and Ill send pics next week.
